Advantages of the biogas plant for the region - Advantages for the farmers: By the benefits of delivering renewable raw materials, the farmers have something to fall back on. - Build-up of a "biogas manure sharing service": By the use of the biogas plant it was possible to establish a "biogas manure sharing service". By this means the farmers just get as much biogas manure as they need - about 30 m³ / year. - The biogas manure nutrients are environmentally compatible and therefore (compared to liquid manure) much better for the plants and the groundwater protection. - Less annoyance caused by the unpleasant smell of liquid manure. The fermentation strongly reduces the substances which are responsible for the unpleasant smell of liquid manure and special manure-barrels lower the evaporation in the air.
