A city thinks     A city rethinks An important step to realize the idea of a completely bioenergy-power supplied city was the formation of Nahwärme Mureck GmbH in 1998. The heating plant, built in the same year, generates (by the use of wood) enough heat to provide the whole city. The power generation is connected with the heat supply station, both are based on biofuel. The "Green Power" goes straight to the mains supply of public services. Four years after start up, 75% of Murecks accomodations, companies and public utilities are already powered by this heating system. Mureck: 1.700 inhabitants taking care for a livable future.
